RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College junior Stephen Paladino (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending March 24, the CACC announced late Monday.
Paladino made two extended relief outings during Felician's 1-3 week. He totaled six innings, in which he did not allow an earned run and pitched to a .158 opponent batting average. He gave up three hits, struck out nine batters and walked one. In the Golden Falcons' only victory of the week, 9-7 in Game 2 over Post University on Saturday, he earned the win by tossing 4 2/3 innings and giving up only an unearned tally.
On the season, Paladino, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound right-hander, has made seven appearances, including three starts, and owns a 1-3 record and a 3.38 earned-run average. He has 24 strikeouts and 13 walks in 24 innings. He sits No. 2 on Felician's all-time strikeout list, with 174 for his career. Paladino is a 2009 graduate of St. Peter's Boys High.
Paladino is the second Golden Falcon to be named CACC Pitcher of the Week this season. Teammate Matthew Facendo (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) was honored on March 3.
Also on Monday, Felician junior baseball center fielder Gabriel Fellin (Temple, Pa./Muhlenberg) and sophomore softball first-baseman Ciera Clark (Granite Bay, Calif./Del Oro) were named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
