RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College freshman Matt Caposio (Staten Island, N.Y./Poly Prep) was named the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Division II/III Rookie Player of the Week for the period ending March 3, the NJCBA announced on Monday.
Caposio, a 6-foot, 175-pound right fielder, played in three games of Felician's 0-4 week. He had at least one hit in each game of losses to regionally-ranked Stonehill College and Saint Anselm College and nationally-ranked Florida Institute of Technology. For the week he hit .364 (4 for 11) with one RBI.
On the season, Caposio has started 13 games for the Golden Falcons. He is hitting .273 with a home run and five stolen bases.

The NJCBA consists of all baseball-playing four-year colleges and universities in the state of New Jersey.
Felician owns a 6-8 overall record heading into Wednesday's pair of non-conference games against Stonehill College and Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla.
