RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Brian Dudzinski (Lincroft, NJ/Middletown South) has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the CACC announced today.
Dudzinski, a 6-foot-6 right-hander, was chosen on the strength of his home conference victory over Concordia (N.Y.) College on Saturday night. In seven innings of work, Dudzinski set a Felician record with 14 strikeouts in his team's 4-1 win. He allowed four hits and two walks, giving up just one unearned run.
On the season, Dudzinski has appeared in 12 games, starting nine. He is 4-5 with a 2.12 earned-run average and one save. In 59 1/3 innings, he has given up 37 hits for an opponent batting average of .174, and leads the CACC with 68 strikeouts. Dudzinski is a 2007 graduate of Middletown South.
Dudzinski is in his first season with Felician after transferring from Furman University. He has also pitched one season each for Seton Hall University and Brookdale Community College.
Dudzinski is the third Golden Falcon this season to be named CACC Pitcher of the Week. Senior right-hander Kenny Monteith (Denville, NJ/Morristown-Beard) was honored on Feb. 28, and sophomore righty Stephen Paladino (Brooklyn, NY/St. Peter's) received the award on Apr. 10.
Felician is a member of NCAA Division II. The Golden Falcons have a 19-20 overall won-lost record. They sit in second place in the CACC with an 11-4 conference mark heading into Wednesday's league doubleheader at first-place Bloomfield College.
